Family Medicine practitioners - Bee Cave, TX

"With the population EXPLOSION in Austin and the care of all the newcomers, our institutional way of business is faultering in ALL sections of our medical services. The more institutionalized it becomes to handle the demand on our doctors and staff, the more frustrating for both the patients and staff with the newly instituted steps (even to just see or speak to a staff member). Medicine is routed by computer defaults instead of the needs of the patient. BSW comes inbetween the office staff/Dr. and patient for every call. Other clinics, Seton Express Care, although immediate by walk-in, can only default to a long ago requested Pharmacy after 2 hour waits in the crowedPharmacy next to the clinic. As well, while in severe pain, having to settle for a muscle relaxant instead of any Rx pain medication because the clinic PA is not allowed to prescribe! Pinched back nerves is bad enough without having to drive or walk into a clinic. What is the point of emergency/express care then? Then, AFTERWARDS, to get pushed about in the crowed pharmacy next door because no instutionalized staff called in the RX after repeated requests to them until 2 hours later. The pharmacy finally seeing it on their computer, find it was sent to the wrong, defaulted, pharmacy! Now the pharmacy is required to call and transfer the Rx from the default store, a store backed-up with patients as well. All the time, I am in severe pain waiting and in the way of a long line of other Rx patients. So thats Express Care! Medicine is incredably difficult without all the layers of rules instutionalization being placed on the Drs. Offices. Then add an influx of exploding population that I have never witness in my 40 years residing here. How possibly can a medical office preform with any level of empathy. How do you institutionalize empathy or even preformance under such conditions? Its has become so striated that each level is getting further and further removed from the needs of the patient to have the least NEED for concern in their preformance. Dr. Fagerberg's office, does their absolute best to work within this institutionalized "system explosion". May God help them all!"
