"Removed a tooth. Was told the week prior that I would be able to resume normal activity immediately after leaving... no different than a cavity filling. When I arrived, the tech said, "I sure hope you had a big breakfast since you won't be eating for a while". To my shock, she told me it was surgical and that there was going to be an extensive after surgery regimen to follow for a while. When the Dr walked in, I told him the very next day I was leaving the country for work and would be away for the next 2 weeks with NO access to medical care. I inquired if we should postpone this surprise surgery. Didn't phase him at all (apparently likes the cash flow over patients wellbeing). When the procedure was finished, he got up and started to walk out of the room. I had to stop him and remind HIM that I should probably have some antibiotics since the perforated sinus area could easily become infected and the fact I wouldn't have access to medical care for the next 2 weeks. Well, it did become severely infected while overseas. Gee, good thing I asked the Dr if I could have antibiotics. I explained the entire process to my cousin who is a dentist and he told me I definitely need to look for another provider and that this one was basically incompetent. I have always considered him rude but figured I was looking for a competent dentist and not a buddy. This broke any confidence or respect I had for him. ... money driven, not care driven. Standard of Care is definitely substandard. RUN!"
