Ms. Whittni Ann Pickens, MA, LGPC

We found Ms. Pickens in the Aetna app. She was listed as in-network and she specializes in children so we thought she might be a good fit for our daughter. I sent her a message on her website with our information, including my phone number. I then used the link on her website to schedule a 15 minute consult. I made the appointment on a Wednesday for the following Monday morning. The appointment was a date/time that said she was available. I got a confirmation email at that time and did not receive any additional correspondence leading up to the appointment. At the time of the appointment, she did not call us. 5 minutes past the appointment time, I called the number I had for her. She answered “hello” and I asked if she was Whittni. She said yes, and I identified myself and noted we had an appointment for a consultation. She said she was “just getting back from vacation” and she was “going to” send me a message because she does not take our insurance through her private practice (even though as we speak she still shows in network on our insurance app) and was going to send me some referrals “in a few minutes”. 30 minutes later we had not received anything from her. My daughter was really disappointed. I can’t speak to her skills as a therapist but based on our experience we felt we may have dodged a bullet given her apparent unreliability and lack of professionalism.
