I called to schedule an appointment to swap my Mirena IUD for Paragard (told this to the receptionist).  I was told I had to see an in house PCP first.  I went to that appt, was then told I had to make a separate appt for the pap smear (PCP was told I wanted to get Paragard).  Receptionist refused to make the appointment, gave me the clinic's contact card and told me to call their phone number to schedule instead.  Called to set up the pap smear appt with the nurse, again stated I wanted Paragard, she said they'd have to set up a 3rd appointment after a clean pap to implant Mirena. I corrected her and said I wanted Paragard. She said they could order Paragard too. Went to my second appt and the PCP waited until AFTER the pap to state that Dr. Murdock doesn't do Paragard, only Mirena, and she doesn't know why, that they would have to refer me out. Meanwhile, the demonstration tool in the room is a Paragard tool. I had to wait two months for these appts, and now I'm probably going to have to do the same for a whole new doctor.
