My career started as an elementary school teacher. After several years of teaching, I decided I wanted a career with more flexibility, which would allow me to spend more time with my family. The desire to help people led me to healthcare. I knew that I wanted to continue to work with infants and children. I discovered my passion in labor and delivery. After nearly two decades as a labor, delivery and postpartum nurse, I continued my education to become a certified nurse midwife. \n My approach to medical care can be summed up in one word: education. I believe that knowledge is power. I want to provide women with information they need to make the best choices for themselves and their families. My hope is to empower women throughout their lives. \n I am married with three wonderful children. Together, we enjoy outdoor activities, traveling and spending time together. In my spare time, I enjoy using my creative skills to complete home projects.
