I contacted the front desk of Dr. Peter Aldrich and specifically made a reservation for Annual Preventative Physical Exam (which is covered by my medical insurance) a month ago. During the phone call, the front desk staff told me that I need to first come and visit the doctor to discuss my and my family's past medical history and it would last for 5-10 mins (they scheduled at 4:30pm on 2/26). And then I need to come back to the doctor for the physical exam. I confirmed with the front desk that this first visit is part of the physical exam and it won't be charged. And they told me yes, it's free. I was never informed that this would be a charged office visit.

On 2/26, I visited the doctor and the nurse helped measure my body weight and then the doctor come and spend just 5 mins with me discussing my past medical history. I told him I am very healthy. Also during the whole process, he didn't provide any treatment or prescription, etc. Finally, he ordered some lab tests for me to complete when I have time. Then he sent me back home.

A week later, I got a bill showing I owe him $203 and it was charged as an office visit. The whole process I felt cheated and severely misled as a new patient. There was never any paperwork or personnel informing me this would be an office visit with charges.

After receiving the bill, I tried to contact the front desk, billing office, all I was told is this is billed by the doctor and they couldn't help. And when I tried to contact the doctor, he just claimed it's a misunderstanding, and refused to fix the bill. I think it's not a misunderstanding, it's indeed an intentional misleading trying to take advantage of new patients.
