Kathryn Peralta, MD, is a board-certified pediatrician. Dr. Peralta has extensive experience treating childhood injuries and illnesses, giving physical exams and guiding families on the AAP immunization recommendations. One of Dr. Peralta’s interests is caring for children with heart conditions. She also supports her teenage patients’ good health and emotional wellbeing. Dr. Peralta earned her medical degree at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Columbia, S.C. She completed her medical training at the Children’s Hospital of Georgia in Augusta, Ga. While in Georgia, Dr. Peralta hosted shows for the Medical College of Georgia’s pediatric podcast. She talked about the effects of vaping on children and teens. “Many youth do not realize that almost all e-cigarettes contain nicotine and are highly addictive,” she says. “There's the misconception that they're only inhaling water vapor.” Dr. Peralta speaks conversational Spanish.
