I went to see Dr. Kahn because of chest pain some years ago. She diagnosed it as mild pericarditis and prescribed a very small dose of amitriptyline which has worked for me. I have ever since continued to go through a battery of tests at her office once a year. I am now 65 and my dad had a massive heart attack at 53. I skipped 2022 because I had no insurance for a while. I recently went through her battery of tests and she identified an aortic aneurism (my cousin died of an aortic dissection), insufficient blood flow in 9% of my heart and diastolic dysfunction. I thought I was doing fine because my blood pressure is low, but apparently it is too low. I have an appointment with her tomorrow to discuss these new findings. I am glad I have stayed in her care. I will also note that I went through some financial problems in 2016 and she wrote off some of her fees without my asking. Now that I am on medicare, she gave me a heads up that she is not getting paid her usual and customary fees by Medicare and recommended a Part C plan for me. She said she would accept the reduced payment for 6 months to give me time to sort it out. Her staff, from the ultrasound technician to the billing clerk, are top notch. Up until recently she managed to jam everything into one visit. Recently, she has had to schedule multiple appointments as she was short a technician, but the quality has not changed. I have a follow up with her tomorrow to discuss next steps now that she has all the test data she needs. I would recommend her to anyone who has a heart concern. And I recommend anyone with family history not to wait until they have a concern. In fact, everyone should see a thorough cardiologist once in a while. I had a good friend who was in his early 50's, athletic and in apparently good health, but he never saw a doctor, and one day after a pick-up game of soccer in his neighborhood, he died on his drive home. He apparently had a congenital heart defect that had never been diagnosed.

My first and the last visit to Dr. Khan's office for just an echocardiogram (done every year for possible irregularities ) turned out to be a 4.45 hours ordeal which my Internist had ordered. She made me take EKG and later persuaded me to get a stress test done even when I told them to remove my IV needle before the start of the Stress Test as I was already frustrated by the long wait and situation. Around 6:30pm she asked me to come back next week for an explanation of the Stress Test and vein scan as all other tests were normal.
No gowns were used during EKG and stress tests, and monitors were placed with difficulty pulling the bra several times. When removing, they were pulled hastily including the IV. When I came home, 4 of them were still there (pic attached). I would not have mentioned them if other things had gone smoothly. I saw the same treatment with another patient whom I also heard annoyingly say "get me out of here".This is the details of a "money making" office.

Starting from the receptionist, I had a bad impression of mis-management but I thought it may be because of the move to the new office. However, upon enquiring, I came to know that they had moved 4 months ago. There was almost no use of computers, the same questions were asked in writing and orally several times as Dr. Khan had no records of tests etc. Dr. Khan had no respect for patients' time. After the initial wait of 1 hour, when in Dr. Khan's office, she left the office 2 times saying, "just a sec" and showed up after 30 minutes. While in her office, she casually spoke to her staff ignoring her patient/me.

Staff seemed unorganized and scrambling except Dr. Khan. Since I wanted to confirm my findings, I asked a couple of workers if today was particularly a stressful day, however, they confirmed that everyday is the same.

After 48 hours I sent an email and later called to ask if they had transferred my records to the ordering physician, their response was that the ordering physician had to send a release form (?) which didn't make sense to me as I had given the order to them. However, I got my phone transferred to the Office Manager, she was rude and said okay she will call the Internist after arguing and hung the phone. Hours later I called my General Internist and Dr. Khan's Office had still not contacted them.

Never had such experience in my life, though I visit several offices a year due to my underlying health conditions.
