The first time I called their office I asked if they accepted Aetna and were taking new patients. They said yes to both. Christus has sent the referral over to their office six times. Three of which was to an incorrect fax number that they gave me. When I followed up with Dr. Hernandez office to check to see if they had the referral the first time the lady said "if we had it we would have called you." Never even asked for my name or checked. I called Christus again and they sent it again, while I was on the phone. Called Dr. Hernandez office back and they said they didn't get it. That is when they gave me an alternative fax number. Christus has sent it three additional times and they say they aren't getting it. I spoke with a woman today and she said we don't have it. I asked if I could just pay cash and not go through insurance and started to explain what the situation was. I told her that River City Imaging found some nodules on my lungs and I just needed someone to look a the imaging. I am trying to rule out cancerous nodules. She said uh huh, uh huh like 4-5 times. Totally dismissive of what I was trying to tell her. I said I was just trying to get checked out. This has been going on since early September. She said she didn't know why they weren't getting my referral, but they were getting other people. She then suggested that I should find another doctor. I told her I was really surprised that she said that. I was calm the entire time, I didn't raise my voice and I was polite. I've wasted weeks trying to get an appointment with this doctor to only be told to find someone else. Very disappointing.
