Dr. M. Andrew Johnson, DDS

I’m not one to leave reviews, but I feel the need to forewarn potential patrons. Dr. Johnson was great, to be sure. He was kind and very thorough, but when checking out after the service, I was informed that they would not be billing my insurance. Rather, I had to pay the full cost out of pocket, and THEN they would bill my insurance and I would be sent a refund. I found this completely ridiculous, as well as unprofessional. I was not informed of this so called “policy” while making the appointment or even checking in for my appointment the day of. I was informed after the service. While not only is this a policy I have never run across from ANY healthcare professional anywhere else, the fact that I was not told of it until after the service was wildly unprofessional. If I had know this in advance, I would have chosen a different dentist. Many people with health insurance don’t have the ability to pay full costs out of pocket, regardless of the refund that will come later, ESPECIALLY when not informed that that is how payment will work. That defeats the whole point of insurance. Dr. Johnson was someone I would like to have gone back to, but I will not be returning due to their payment policies.
