Even after repeated requests and a written letter disputing of the bill, Dr. Lake and her staff refuse to explain why no referral or insurance preauthorization was sought prior to non-emergency treatment. She did not disclose to the patient beforehand that they will be charged a large fee when the doctor chooses not to  seek a referral. "VHS Physicians" then duns you for an exorbitant bill.
