Primary Care Doctors - Purcellville, VA

"On August 24 I had a mammogram at Fairfax Radiology Consultants (FRC) that came back with an abnormality. On August 29 I had a follow-up mammogram which indicated that I needed a biopsy. All of these reports were sent to Dr Dias. A particular type of biopsy procedure was recommended in the August 29th report from FRC. A prescription needed to be sent for the biopsy, from Dr Dias, to Radiology Imaging Associates (RIA) in order for me to have the biopsy done at their Landsdowne facility versus Fairfax Hospital. I picked up my films from FRC on August 31st and hand delivered them to RIA in order to expedite the scheduling of my biopsy. Dr Dias was to fax the prescription to RIA. Dr Dias faxed a prescription for a biopsy procedure that contradicted with the biopsy procedure recommended by FRC. On Tuesday, September 4th, RIA called me to tell me that Dr Dias sent the wrong prescription and that their radiologist agreed with the recommendation from FRC. A request was made to Dr Dias to correct the prescription and re-send to RIA. All of this confusion and error resulted in the delay of my biopsy until September 12th. On September 18th I called INOVA Purcellville for my results. I was told Dr Dias had a report but hadn’t read it yet and that she would call me back by the next day. On September 19th I called INOVA Purcellville twice for my results. I was told Dr Dias would call me back by the next day. On September 19th I called RIA and they said the results weren’t ready yet but that my primary care physician should provide them to me when they were ready. On September 21st I called INOVA Purcellville for my results. I was told Dr Dias said she never ordered a biopsy for me. On September 21st I called RIA and explained my problems with Dr Dias and they had the radiologist call me back with the results. On the afternoon of September 21st, Dr Dias finally called me back and told me that, (and I quote) “doctors don’t have time to call patients” and that “she didn’t order the tissue sampling so she doesn’t provide the results" I think this unethical, un-empathic behavior is unacceptable. I will not be using INOVA Purcellville as my primary care facility ever again and I will strongly recommend that no one I know uses them. "

Since I have a family history of skin cancer, I asked him to biopsy it. He said I didn't need a biopsy - that is was most likely a broken blood vessel of sorts. So I went to another doctor. Part of me wonders if I had had the mole biopsied earlier if it would have been just stage 1 instead of stage 2 - but either way, screw this guy. "

"I just contacted Dr. Wenzel's office as a new patient, and I was rudely treated by Jessica who hung up on me. They were listed on Aetna insurance website as they are accepting new patients and she abruptly cut me off and said they are not accepting any new patients. As I tried to explain I found them on the Aetna website, she hung up the phone! NOT GOOD and very unprofessional."
