Endocrinologists - Fairfax, VA

"They will not return calls or call in prescriptions. It does not matter what the prescription is for, they aren’t going to do it. It does not matter if the condition is life threatening, they clearly do not care. I have type 1 diabetes, insulin dependent, potentially life threatening. It took me over a month to get a human in the phone, they never ever returned my calls. They didn’t even call me back when my PCP called them. All I wanted was to refill a prescription. The message I received back on MyChart said I needed to schedule an appointment first. I then spent over a month attempting to schedule this appointment. After I scheduled, they still didn’t refill my prescriptions. They do not care."

"Dr. Bowen-Wright is a good doctor. She’s smart and knows what she is doing. However, before you get to see her, you have to deal with a very rude and unprofessional Office Assistant/ Receptionist. I’ve been bringing my mother here for two years. My mom is legally blind. The Office Assistant would not allow me to come in with my mom to help with paperwork. (I understand with COVID.) But, then she would not help her fill out the COVID question paperwork. My mother CAN’T see the paper—must less the words on the paperwork. After being told I couldn’t come in to help her, I was then summoned back to do the paperwork since the Office Asst. wouldn’t help her. I came back in, did the paperwork, and then was thrown out of the office again. Not asked to step outside, told to stand in the hallway, rudely. I think the receptionist must have an issue with my mom’s vision issue, and just simply doesn’t want to help. It’s unfortunate, because Dr. Bowen-Wright is good. But, the mistreatment and tone of the Receptionist/ Office Assistant is simply unacceptable. I’ll be looking for a new Endocrinologist for my mother today. Very disappointing. "

I had initial new patient consultation with a recommendation of Dr.Vacchani who I am excited to say moving to do research field Major Govt Agency Dr.Shwetha as I like to call her since she is younger than me explained details patiently all of my concerns felt good after a long time (took her time) I guess her training/practice in Texas southern charm is refreshing. I took labs and medications to her she reviewed my medical history iasked questions. Rare quality in doctor which I appreciated. I hope I have a doctor coach for future. I got out satisfied after my visit... hope she continues her down to earth patient first attitude for all her patients.INOVA should be proud to have her in their staff."
