Endocrinologist - Mesa, AZ

"My daughter with diabetes, my son with Kleinfeldters and I (hypo thyroid) all went to him. I spent 3 years telling him how tired I was and he never investigated ANYTHING! All he said was, "it's not your thyroid". I was with Dr. Brard for over 4 years. Dr. Brard had my thyroid radiated and that is how I became hypothyroid. Now that I am with another doctor (who figured out that I was tired because my testosterone was non existant- well within the scope of an endocrinologist to diagnose), I wonder If I should have ever allowed my thyroid to be radiated. I feel great now, but Dr. Brard should've investigated my concerns instead of ignoring me. My diabetic daughter hated him (and she likes everyone) and my son was never medicated properly under his care. My son is also now properly medicated by an endocrinologist and my daughter is also happy with our new endocrinologist."

"I have been to see Dr. Alhakim twice so far. I like that she takes her time with me and discusses everything thoroughly. She listens well and is compassionate. I feel like we are partners in my care. She was right on time for my first visit. She was only 10 minutes past my appointment time on the second visit which didn't bother me. Her office staff is pleasant and helpful. The office is clean and orderly. I also like the fact that they have a portal to see information and contact them."

"Awful bedside manner - doesn't explain things well and makes you feel stupid when asking questions. Makes you wait in the waiting room and the office for a long time before actually getting back with you. Office staff is incredibly rude. Expect to wait a week + before getting answers for messages left for the MA or the DR. "
